We will start our cycling expedition directly from the centre of Prague and ride on a cycling path stretching along the embankment of the Vltava river directly south. When we reach the outskirts of the capital we will continue through a lovely landscape around the river Berounka which became a popular place to spend summer for a wealthy class of the 1920s-1930s.
Until now its natural beauty attracts numerous visitors and is a desirable place to live. Our destination will be the Karlstein Castle which played a significant role in the medieval history of Bohemia. It stands out on a high rocky cliff surrounded by densely forested hills. There will be an opportunity to have a refreshing lunch in the Karlstein village and go inside the castle upon request. We will take a train back to Prague.
Distance of cycling: around 35km (mostly flat)
